A Peek Into My Beliefs

This is Jaclyn. Today, I`m going to get a little bit deep. Some of you may find this topic to be a bit controversial (I could name a few who would, guaranteed!), but I feel I should put it out there for all to see. Today`s topic, ladies and gents, is reincarnation. Those of you who really know me know that I`m not religious in the least. I dislike the concept of a structured, organized religion that mandates attendance at a specific building at a specific time on a specific day. And I was raised to choose any religious paths I wished. Strangely, however, I love learning about religions. What the believe and try to attain. This is why I chose philosophy as a high school course. There I expanded on my knowledge of karma and reincarnation. See, the standard reincarnation belief is that if your life has been good (good karma) that your soul moves onto a higher plane for your next life, until eventually you can move no higher. I thought that this was a very interesting idea (which I`ve bastardized brutally, but you get the concept). Then, in science, I learned a fact (I`ll elaborate in a moment) that made me think. I began to believe in reincarnation not long after. But not your standard belief. I have my own version, which I`ll put out there for you all. The facts I learned in science were that the energy in the universe is constant, that you can never create or destroy energy (it can only change forms, ie-electricity to heat) and that our body functions solely on electrical impulses. So where does that electricity go when one dies? It must go somewhere, in one form or another. So why couldn`t the energy in our bodies be like our soul? And after we die, this energy disperses into the universe, only to be reformed as something else. Most of the reincarnation beliefs state that you come back as a living object, to live a new life and die again. Why couldn`t we also come back as, say, the electricity running through your computer, or a campfire? It`s all energy! It`s also said that energy, electricity can hold memories, an imprint of what it`s done. Couldn`t that explain why people know their past lives? Or even ghosts perhaps, being an imprint of what the energy in an area once was? This is what I believe anyways, and I wanted to share it with you.
