"The Legendary Mullet"
This is Jaclyn. So...the mullet. That legendary hairstyle worn by rednecks, country stars and people stuck in the 80`s. Mullets utterly amaze me. I have a deep-rooted love/hate relationship with them. I despise them for the implication that those who wear them are dirty, stinkin` good-for-nothing good ole` boys who sit around drinkin` whiskey and rye and singin` "This`ll be the day that I die" or who listened to waaay too much Bon Jovi, Poison and Def Leppard in the 80`s, and whose bad decisions culminated in that particular hairdo. But yet...they hold a mystical power over me. I enjoy seeing them. I laugh at them, or is it WITH them? I want them to make a comeback. And I know the perfect person to do that. Krystal`s dad. He had a mullet in the 80`s. He even got married in it. And let me tell you folks...it mas sublime. Perfect. Gorgeous. All buisiness in the front, PARTAY in the back! A mullet that magnificent would bring them back in full force. Everyone would have one. Sports stars, models, musicians, movie stars. Dogs and grandparents. Large ladies in muumuus. And all would be right (read: wrong) with the world. That is all.

My friend in residence had a mullet wig. Yes a mullet wig. She lives in a small town and her and her friends would wear said mullet wigs and questionable thrift store fashions in public as entertainment. I have a pic on my fb of her wearing it actually with a pretty snazzy fur vest that I owned. Then on Halloween when heading back from the LCBO we encountered a young man wearing a mullet wig, crop top and jean shorts, I'm pretty sure he was her soul mate. Anyways just thought I'd share my own personal encounters with the mullet.
ReplyDeletei think i have to meet your friend, anyone who owns and wears a mullet in public is worth meeting :p oh i bet there are lots of people out there with their own mullet stories i wonder if anyone else is willing to share.....??
