Jaclyn here. It would seem we have abandoned this poor blog and all our faithful readers *crickets*. Yeahhh...but, we have decided to once more start 'er up. What inspired this sudden change? Well, it was me. I have a tendancy to get bored...easily. I thank Jebus that I have sufficient internet capability on my new phone (it was unlimited on my last, but 1 gig is more than enough). I therefore have lot of time and a willingness to slowly surf the internet. Anywho, the other day I was reading a magazine article which was talking about a phenomenon known as "blooks", books which have stemmed from popular blogs. One of the ones mentioned was Cake Wrecks by a lady named Jen Yates. Being bored the next day, I started to check it out, in order. It was absolutely hilarious! She posts cakes by legitimate professional bakers and decorators which they have ruined...I'm talking bad spelling and grammar, unrecognizable images and questionable decisions. I fell in love with her writing style and her hilarious commentary. Then I realized she had another blog, EPBOT. So I read that too, from the beginning. Along with all being positively hilarious, its also refreshingly honest and real, along with neat DIY projects. After going through both, and checking back every day, I remembered that I, too had a blog. So I figured I may as well start posting again. Why? Because I get bored easily...and now I have something to do.

answer to toe nails
its Krystal and i have an answer to Jaclyn's question about toe nails and why we have them or at least what i have determined after taking an anthropology class where we have learned about primates, humans and evolution. I'm not saying this is the correct answer to the question but it will shed some light on the problem. First off I don't want to get into an argument with anyone about evolution because that could take years to discuss and we'd probably just end up in the same views as we started with so just for this purpose let's all see evolution as a valid idea that should be seen on its own merit and not compared to anything else. Also I've only taken one class on this topic so I'm no where near and expert so don't take what I say as absolute truth, its just my thoughts on the topic, ok with all that covered i guess we can move on the actual answer i know you're all waiting to find out but it really isn't all that exciting. Toe nails are an evolutionary trait but for the most part in primates closest to humans and human like creatures both toe nails and finger nails where never used as a defence like claws it was more related to the fact that our greatest asset is our use of hands and to a lesser extent feet and how they are used. there are very few other animals in the world that use their hands and feet in the same way that primates do, primate hands have both strength and dexterity, we can use them to snap a stick in half or softly pick up a hair or something, you don't see other animals like llamas doing that, no offence to llamas they are just different from primates. primates and human like creatures needed to use their hands in many different ways, mostly for food collection, because for the most part they where omnivores who ate mostly plants and bugs and such and generally didn't hunt large animals. they did eat meat to a certain extent but it was mostly scavenged from other animal's kills, meat for the most part was not the bases of their diet. now i know that finger nails and toe nails are different things but the same goes for toe nails. without finger nails we wouldn't be able to do the same things that we do, they give support and protection to our very important finger tips. toe nails provide the same support and protection to our toes as we walk. ya it hurts when you stub your toe and even if you really do a number on it, the toe nail will fall off and grow back, it may be painful but it is better than a broken toe if there was no nail there to protect it. and toe nails probably evolved to help us climb trees but when we were still living in trees we still had a large amount of hair as well which we do not today, well most people anyway :p so toe nails must have served some other purpose for them to stay around over the same period of time the full body hair did not. well thats just what i think anyways but i do agree Jaclyn toe nails are a pain to deal with but they do serve a purpose how ever small :) alright thats all i have to say hope you found that at least a little interesting

Not For the Ultra-Squeemish
This is Jaclyn. Here`s a question for you all to mull over. Why do humans have toenails? We no longer need them for grip in trees, or to claw at enemies or prey. They just sit there with no real purpose. If anything, they cause problems! People go through all the effort to pain them and shape them and make them look pretty, but why? How many people look at someone`s feet and say "Wow Jane, thems some nice toenails you gots there!" You have to clip them all the time, or you end up with a plethora of problems, from potentially cutting your shin when you sleep to catching them on your socks to good old fashioned ingrown toenails. And yes, this all comes from personal experience. I was in the habit of keeping them long (partly out of laziness, partly...ya it was all laziness) but believe you me, those days are over. Since I got my second job, I`ve been on my feet 14 hours virtually every day and this has led to (warning, this is about to be too much information) the worst ingrown toenail I've had in my life. I had constant pain in the big toe on my right foot, which is no fun when my shoes are too tight. And the worst part is, I didn`t know what to do about it! I considered going to the doctors, but when I heard the term "lancing" I chickened out. No way is someone sticking a needle in me! So I was left with one option. Soak it, squeeze it ( it was rather infected as well) , and cut the damn things back. So I did. The pain was brutal, but it didn`t last long. And it bled when I cut it (stubbing it 3 times about an hour later probably didn`t help much). But it`s done with. Hopefully. I learned my lesson, that`s for sure. Forget long toenails. Forget toenails in general. I think it`s time evolution kicked in and got rid of them. That is all.

A Peek Into My Beliefs
This is Jaclyn. Today, I`m going to get a little bit deep. Some of you may find this topic to be a bit controversial (I could name a few who would, guaranteed!), but I feel I should put it out there for all to see. Today`s topic, ladies and gents, is reincarnation. Those of you who really know me know that I`m not religious in the least. I dislike the concept of a structured, organized religion that mandates attendance at a specific building at a specific time on a specific day. And I was raised to choose any religious paths I wished. Strangely, however, I love learning about religions. What the believe and try to attain. This is why I chose philosophy as a high school course. There I expanded on my knowledge of karma and reincarnation. See, the standard reincarnation belief is that if your life has been good (good karma) that your soul moves onto a higher plane for your next life, until eventually you can move no higher. I thought that this was a very interesting idea (which I`ve bastardized brutally, but you get the concept). Then, in science, I learned a fact (I`ll elaborate in a moment) that made me think. I began to believe in reincarnation not long after. But not your standard belief. I have my own version, which I`ll put out there for you all. The facts I learned in science were that the energy in the universe is constant, that you can never create or destroy energy (it can only change forms, ie-electricity to heat) and that our body functions solely on electrical impulses. So where does that electricity go when one dies? It must go somewhere, in one form or another. So why couldn`t the energy in our bodies be like our soul? And after we die, this energy disperses into the universe, only to be reformed as something else. Most of the reincarnation beliefs state that you come back as a living object, to live a new life and die again. Why couldn`t we also come back as, say, the electricity running through your computer, or a campfire? It`s all energy! It`s also said that energy, electricity can hold memories, an imprint of what it`s done. Couldn`t that explain why people know their past lives? Or even ghosts perhaps, being an imprint of what the energy in an area once was? This is what I believe anyways, and I wanted to share it with you.

List of Ten - movies
This is Krystal and I am at a loss as to a good topic to talk about and since Jaclyn stole the awesome topic of mullets I'll have to find something else. So I've decided that every time I can't think of a good topic to talk about I'll make a list of ten somethings that I find interesting, today it shall be a list of ten movies that I enjoyed watching and that I think other people might enjoy watching. The reasons I find these movies interesting will range from the movie being deep and meaningful to them being super funny. So that is about all the explanation needed so on with the list:
1. Powder
2. V for Vendetta
3. Monty Python and the Holy Grail
4. Spaceballs
5. Beetlejuice
6. Watchmen
7. Across the Universe
8. RENT
9. Willow
10. all the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
This list isn't in any particular order but others will be
1. Powder
2. V for Vendetta
3. Monty Python and the Holy Grail
4. Spaceballs
5. Beetlejuice
6. Watchmen
7. Across the Universe
8. RENT
9. Willow
10. all the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
This list isn't in any particular order but others will be
"The Legendary Mullet"
This is Jaclyn. So...the mullet. That legendary hairstyle worn by rednecks, country stars and people stuck in the 80`s. Mullets utterly amaze me. I have a deep-rooted love/hate relationship with them. I despise them for the implication that those who wear them are dirty, stinkin` good-for-nothing good ole` boys who sit around drinkin` whiskey and rye and singin` "This`ll be the day that I die" or who listened to waaay too much Bon Jovi, Poison and Def Leppard in the 80`s, and whose bad decisions culminated in that particular hairdo. But yet...they hold a mystical power over me. I enjoy seeing them. I laugh at them, or is it WITH them? I want them to make a comeback. And I know the perfect person to do that. Krystal`s dad. He had a mullet in the 80`s. He even got married in it. And let me tell you folks...it mas sublime. Perfect. Gorgeous. All buisiness in the front, PARTAY in the back! A mullet that magnificent would bring them back in full force. Everyone would have one. Sports stars, models, musicians, movie stars. Dogs and grandparents. Large ladies in muumuus. And all would be right (read: wrong) with the world. That is all.

Hello, and all that jazz...
Hi all! This is Jaclyn speaking. So, to introduce myself. I`m not in school (yet...I may in a few years) but rather am working two jobs (a video store and a coffee shop) to help out my family. I enjoy reading (mostly old 50`s/60`s sci-fi), video games, people watching and just being me. Krystal and I are best friends. We met each other waaaay back in 9th grade, 6 years ago. I kept borrowing her pencil sharpener, and she put up with me. Since then we`ve been virtually inseperable. We`ve spent many an energy drink-fueled time together. We came to have our own way of speaking, kind of like our language. This mostly comes out via our 6+ hour-long text message conversations. We always found each other, and ourselves, funny and interesting. We have some unique views on the world, and we`re just crazy most of the time. That`s where this blog came from. We wanted to share our uniqueness with the world. So there ya go. That`s the details. Soon we shall get around to posting some of our musings! Til then...adios!
